Neglecting reflection blog..

Just bought Tina Fey's "Bossypants" on iBooks after reading xiaxue's blog... lmao. If she wrote a book I'd probably buy that too!

"...and I think gay people are just as good at watching their kids play hockey as straight people"
Only on the fourth paragraph and I love it already. To my friends back home.. sorry if this sparks another post-bridesmaids behaviour. LMAO I love to repeat funny things I read or see.... "DON'T LOOK AT ME" ... foreveralone.jpg

FACECAM

Ages ago, I downloaded the app "facecam" on my phone after reading about it on xiaxue's blog (lmaooo funniest blogger. EVER.) Anyway this app is like plastic surgery without the pain! hahaha but I found out recently (derp) that you can also use it to make yourself look the opposite of post-fake-plasticsurgery!!  Okay... the variance between "inferior settings" and "normal" is not as obvious as the difference between "normal" and "better settings". I wonder what that's supposed to mean lmao

for anyone who wanted to DL, this is what the app button looks like
And using my iPhone photo editing skills I compiled this picture to show off the difference! LOL please don't mind my awkward face as I stare into your souls...
LOL can you tell which is which?!
And if anyone is wondering (wait, who is even reading?!), I think both the after photos are wtfbbq weird and/or unnatural. Actually, the one with the "inferior" settings looks more human. Ahh.. after all, to be human, is to be imperfect.

This ability to make yourself look the opposite of how you'd want is kinda cool. It's like, one day you think to yourself.. "ahh FML why my eyes are so small and my face so round..." then suddenly, your more rational self jumps into your scumbag brain all like, "OH NO YOU DIDN'T..." Whip out your iphone and open up this app... make your face EVEN rounder! And your eyes even smaller!! Then you can appreciate your face and go on with your day like
"Awwww yeah I'm pretty."

GMARKET

My favourite place to shop in Korea is Gmarket!

While I was on exchange at Yonsei almost 2 years ago, I discovered the joys of online shopping. Specifically on Gmarket. There are sooo many things to choose from and the prices are such a steal! Something I find at Ehwa or Myeong Dong might be double the price (Sometimes). The only drawback is that you cannot try it on, but there's a model wearing it in about a thousand photos so you can kinda draw your own conclusions. It's best if you are just really familiar with the sizing in Korea. Also, a lot of times the clothes are Free size so you don't even have a choice! It's a gamble for quality and fitting, I guess! But with those prices and the pretty styles... I can't help but take it! Somehow I totally forgot about Gmarket shopping the last 2 times I was in Korea ... But now I'm obsessed again ... this is my first purchase!! I just wanted a warm jacket ......

derp. Want to buy more.....but I have to finish my reflection blog....ooops.............Hopefully this jacket looks good in real life!

2011 - A Reflection

Hurrah! It's officially 2012, in 12 months time, we are all predictably doomed! So we better make the next 12 months amazing!

So this year, I counted down the new year in Daejeon, which is where Angel lives! on the 30th, I came home from Hong Kong and on the 31st, packed my bag and headed to Gangnam's Express Bus terminal to meet Yoonseong. There, we booked a bus ticket and had 10 minutes to catch it. Somehow, in the 10 minutes, he lost our tickets. LOL wtf haha but some kind person picked it up and gave it to the ticketing center, so we made it! (Ok, since I came home from HK I've been hating on HK and the people, so I just have to say that this scenario would have only a 10% chance of happening in HK because the person who would pick it up in HK would probably sell those tickets for profit!! And for anyone who wants to hate on me hating, just gotta point out that I AM an HK citizen lmao so go ahead, preach away~)

Anyway, the bus ride was about 2 hours and when we reached Daejeon, we went for Italian food at a restaurant called bonbon.. delicious! They had rose cream, which is half tomato and half cream sauce, with a bit of cheese! OMG remaking this some time..

[just spent the last 20 minutes on facebook and failbook... 2012, 22 years old, still ADD]

Anyway, so on the last day of 2011, the three of us (Angel, YS & I) spent the day doing everything you could possibly do in Daejeon.

In order of occurrence, I will just sum it up real quick because I wanna get to the main point of this blog! Italian food at bonbons, met Angel @ the station, YS goes home, Angel & I go for some shopping underground, Terrace J cafe, met YS @ Galleria (a department store i think.. or was that Lotte?), bought nail polish, went to Coffee Bean to kill timeand try to paint my nails, but YS shunned that idea (ADD memory: we caught a guy picking his wedgie very politely, and right after, a nasty girl sticks her whole hand into her saggy pants and does the same thing! #noclass.

Us @ Terrace J cafe

After that, we headed to Jiny's Pub where YS complains that life is pain, and hates on the bartender (cuz he could pick up girls with his flaming drinks). I got hungry and we went for some 부대찌개, then headed to a noraebang where, Angel and YS made beautiful music that would make angels cry and I made their ears bleed ....... and with an hour or so left of the year, we headed to a bar called Sponge so I could be loud - there we counted down with a bunch of foreigners and some Koreans who love foreigners.. (so says the two locals I was with haha).. and maybe 5 minutes into 2012, I am  finally allowed to go dance on the dance floor, but YS decides that the people are a little creepy and takes us clubbing @ Cocoon instead! (YES.. cocoon, just like in Hongdae, which was where I was counting down to 2011!!) We left maybe 1 hour into being there though because 1 - YS' friends were at an izakaya and 2 - the big TV screen said "welcome to the clubs, 1993!" WTF.... i am ... not born in the 90's. So, we headed to the izakaya and after that, the  three of us headed to Angel's home :) What a lovely way to spend the last bit of 2011! With good company, good food, and good times!! I foresee a beautiful new year :)

And so it's time to reflect on 2011! This is the first time I attempt a reflection like this, and we all know that I have the memory of a goldfish! Hopefully, the pictures I have saved will help me piece together my life in the last year! :)

January
Towards the end of December, Joie and I went to Korea together! The Cheeseballs first trip abroad together! It was insane! January 1st, 2011 was spent in Cocoon!! Just like January 1st of 2012! This must mean something. That time however, we had a bit of a creepy night... we met weirdos left and right! LOL In the end though, we got home safe. We probably didn't wake up until 5pm the next day LOL but the beginning of 2011 was just filled with the best nights of my life! We'd wake up late, get ready, go for lunch, hang around, go for dinner, go home and get ready, then go clubbing at 12 or 1am until 6am! OMG... I missed a week of school for that!! Needless to say, best decision of my life.

Joie & I getting ready to countdown

Beautiful, right?

February
(Whoever decided on the extra "r" in February is lame) UM ..so what happened in Feb? Somebody wanna tell me...? LOL ... My best guess is that I was in school and nothing exciting was going on ..
Ok. I just spent 15 minutes going back into my 2011 life on facebook .... OMG yes I DO have a life okay?? Just that I care about this blog and it is my 2012 responsibility to treat it with respect and work on her all the time ...
So February. Apparently, I went to Turbo a lot. I didn't get a chance to see Joie much :( But, I did go to Guelph to visit Annie!

Uhh.. ya.. Joie and I got funny socks for people from Korea LOL...
We had a reading week in February and that's when I got my wisdom teeth pulled :( I couldn't eat for days...! And I looked like a chipmunk. Not only that but my sweet friend Annie would make "that's what she said" jokes everytime I made comments like ... "It's too hard to chew! ... I can't open my mouth that wide..." !#@$W%RHY% keyboard smash for her pointing out my unintentional puns!

In February, a horrible accident happened as well. The life of a elementary school friend was tragically cut short. It was really a surprise to us all. It makes you realize that life is short, and time is precious. It's scary to think about how quickly and easily you could lose someone so close to you - so better take this space to say I love my friends and family! If you are reading this now.. I may not always be the best friend, daughter, or sister, but at the end of the day, you are all extremely important to me! And when I feel like I have wronged you, I won't be able to sleep! I'm not good with words.... so.......

Hope the Beatles can help show you all my affection
So with the sudden crave for friendship and thinking that life is too short to miss opportunities to see each other, we had quite a lot of meetings in my opinion. Started with meeting up with Suhan, and then some other friends from Haig :) Wow, time flies! At that time, it had been 3.5 years since graduation!

March
Highlight of March... surprising Natalie for her birthday! LOL Wait.. were you surprised?! Or was that an act?! LOL anyway, that was fun! We have a video of it all ... It's great to look back and remember all the good times we shared! wow, that was just 10 months ago! Angel was still in Toronto, but other than that, feels like things haven't changed at all! Apparently, March is also the month that Natalie and I decided to have a strange addiction to Cheetos... From that night on, I made sure to have Cheetos all the time! (Sweet Joie even began buying me Cheetos on nights that I'd go to her place.. lmao!)

Nat's birthday!
At the end of March, I had my convocation, Schulich grad lunch, and last pub night. Amazing. Four years with wonderful friends that I will never forget! At the end of March, was apparently my trip to Niagara! That was weird! lmao but fun. Will seemed to have written "Walla walla" a lot on my wall at this time.. what does it mean?!
Graduated!
<3
Niagara!
Okay... I'm sleepy now.. so reflection TBC!
