On the go

Oh wow so there's an iPhone app for blogger! This is so revolutionary!! Haha ok I guess it's not but this definitely means I'll be blogging more consistently! For one thing, I am on my phone 24/7... On the toilet, walking down the street, on a date (sorry!) and even checking mobile Facebook while Facebook is opened on my NetBook!! Wtf major addiction.. Need help?? And second of all.. Autocorrect!! No longer need to open second tab, and google words that I am unsure of. Even keyboard smash on here will result in something: fowl of selfish diode. That whole sentence composed by keyboard smashing!! Wtf is a selfish diode. Hahahaha

On Wednesday I am finally going back to Toronto!! So last night, Angel came out to Seoul and we were in the Apgu/Cheongdam area all day :) again, we went to Cafe74, where the bartender remembered what we ordered the last time we were there!! Ok maybe some pro will be like.. Ya whatever thats part of their job! But wtf!! We just went ONCE before and that was half a year ago!! Haha last time I was in shorts and a tank and this time Angel had a heat pad and I was dressed like Chinese zhong. Super impressed! Even I didn't remember what I ordered! (lemon drop!) kk wtf I don't know how to edit the pictures on this app ...

트릭아이 뮤지엄 (Trick Eye Museum)

Okay.. so it is February now and I'm already failing one of my NY resolutions.. I never blog. So I'll try to make up for all that by working extra hard..for now.

Anyway so today's blog is going to be about something I did like 2 months ago. Back in December, Angel and I went to Hongdae together to visit the Trick Eye Museum.
If you can read Korean, check it out here: http://blog.daum.net/aselltour/2790

Actually, if you go to Hongdae often, theres a huge chance you have probably walked passed this place a million times without even noticing it there! After crossing the 1 major street (the one where you'd see Starbucks and Taco Bell), if you walk a little further down, the Trick Eye Museum is in a small building. Go upstairs, and you'll see some of the artwork already! There is a small entrance fee, I think it was about \10,000 a person. Check out some of the pictures we took!

lmao, the last one of those is my favourite! There were even little signs on the walls next to the pieces that teach you how to effectively pose with the paintings! For one famous painting of a naked man, they suggested that people pretend to pew pew poke (Ok I made that up. It's where your two hands are clasped together and the two index fingers are upright! Like you are gathering all your energy or something..haha) the naked man's butt! People so compliant that the paint began to fade on the painting!! Anyway, the painting is a famous one but already I've forgotten which one! Practically all famous paintings are of some naked guy or not .. and the only hint I have for recollection is a close up of this fading butt.

And then these two are my favourite pictures from the museum! There is a special room designed just for this installation! It's really my favourite! It's taken from Angel's Galaxy S2 and had some cool filters added to them.

Believe or not, we did not drink Alice's special shrinking drink or her growing cake! Trick Eye may be weird English, but it's definitely the most suitable name for this museum! Really, 진짜대박이야!

2011 - A Reflection Part II

April
lol April was fun while it was April. haha! Joie and I went out a lot!! Met a bunch of new people who I don't really see too much now.. Spent a lot at Yonge & Finch. What else could that mean but 술.집. I think it was in April that we had like.. 50 million farewell parties for one friend.. haha. Seriously. It was like, omfg leave already! hahahaha and If Allyson you ever read this.. I have to post this photo for you (AND u wrote on my wall saying u have my socks. GIVE THEM BACK LOL!! jkjk)

DW's butt
Anyway, April also marked a new milestone in my family! My mom and dad went away to Korea for work. So starts the many battles of my sister and I, but it's alright hahaha. So they packed up and left for Korea! And stayed in Insadong. TBH it was worrisome, thinking about them in a foreign place... but on the other hand..

ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu...reedom!
lmao! And then we went on a roadtrip! I drove on the highway for the second time in my life! All lives are accounted for; none were lost! Joie, Annie, Will, Rae and I drove the 3 hours up to Western to visit Ally :)

The trip home from Western was mad tiring. I wouldn't be surprised if my life after that is all a dream and dream-me is currently writing this blog as a result of me being in a coma having crashed into opposing traffic on the highway at that time. WTF did I just say?? Mindf*ck. It's creativity, okay. This is probably how Christopher Nolan came up with Inception.

Finally, I tried Guu at the end of April with Natalie since Angel was working there. We went to the one on Bloor Street, the newer one. Since then I also went to the one on Church Street, but I'm 140% certain that the one on Bloor has a better menu.. where were my torched salmon sushi's at Church?! (Right.. Torched. Sound so fancy.. makes me salivate - not so fancy)

Yay for iPhone photography in dark spaces
May
May was nicee...hahahahaha kkkk got not much to say in public about it. Okay, I'm secretive too!

June
Went to the ZOO with Annie. LMAO. All the animals weren't out and so I think we spent about half the trip staring at the hippo. HIPPO ATTACKS kill more people annually than shark attacks! And actually, dogs kill more per year than sharks too! So.. set your fear-priorities straight!

We got to feed stingrays and touch sharks!
Later in June, spontaneously (Sorta, not really. But I'll say it anyway since "spontaneously" makes me sound more cultured) went to Korea, after my graduation ceremony. (Uhh.. I think I talked about convocation in March when it was in June.) Aw, Ally stayed over the night before I left. I actually left her in my room when I went to catch my flight. T^T WHY WE SO SWEET?

Had lots of fun in Korea.. but I'm the worst traveler. You'll never get good pictures out of me.
Insadong, nearby my home
hanging out with Colin
Having tea like a madam, with Angel
July
I went back to Hong Kong for about a week. Got to see Nat, Terri, Ray, and some others! yay :) When I went back to Korea.. more fun times. Yoonseong celebrated my birthday with me :) and then.... best gift ever; Allyson came to Korea!!!! Aww, good times!!

One of the 50 million times we had BBQ
Always looking our best?!
FTD .. this was the night we ordered "kimchi + tofu" and it came out like literally cold kimchi and tofu...
FOL thought it's some exotic soup but no .... okay.jpeg
Hanging out at Jongro with Seohong
August
Allyson stayed with me for a while before she went back to Wuhan and I went back to Toronto. Before that though, we went to Busan with Yoonseong, Kangsik, and Woongs!! Wow. We got into a small ...dispute with some girls in Busan. LOL Yoonseong stopped trusting me after that whenever we went clubbing -.-
Weekend in Busan
Then it was back to Toronto! Towards the end of August, my aunt and her family came to visit! They stayed with us for a while. It's nice to have some family time >3< And just before August came to an end, went to CNE a few times.

Neglecting reflection blog..

Just bought Tina Fey's "Bossypants" on iBooks after reading xiaxue's blog... lmao. If she wrote a book I'd probably buy that too!

"...and I think gay people are just as good at watching their kids play hockey as straight people"
Only on the fourth paragraph and I love it already. To my friends back home.. sorry if this sparks another post-bridesmaids behaviour. LMAO I love to repeat funny things I read or see.... "DON'T LOOK AT ME" ... foreveralone.jpg

FACECAM

Ages ago, I downloaded the app "facecam" on my phone after reading about it on xiaxue's blog (lmaooo funniest blogger. EVER.) Anyway this app is like plastic surgery without the pain! hahaha but I found out recently (derp) that you can also use it to make yourself look the opposite of post-fake-plasticsurgery!!  Okay... the variance between "inferior settings" and "normal" is not as obvious as the difference between "normal" and "better settings". I wonder what that's supposed to mean lmao

for anyone who wanted to DL, this is what the app button looks like
And using my iPhone photo editing skills I compiled this picture to show off the difference! LOL please don't mind my awkward face as I stare into your souls...
LOL can you tell which is which?!
And if anyone is wondering (wait, who is even reading?!), I think both the after photos are wtfbbq weird and/or unnatural. Actually, the one with the "inferior" settings looks more human. Ahh.. after all, to be human, is to be imperfect.

This ability to make yourself look the opposite of how you'd want is kinda cool. It's like, one day you think to yourself.. "ahh FML why my eyes are so small and my face so round..." then suddenly, your more rational self jumps into your scumbag brain all like, "OH NO YOU DIDN'T..." Whip out your iphone and open up this app... make your face EVEN rounder! And your eyes even smaller!! Then you can appreciate your face and go on with your day like
"Awwww yeah I'm pretty."

GMARKET

My favourite place to shop in Korea is Gmarket!

While I was on exchange at Yonsei almost 2 years ago, I discovered the joys of online shopping. Specifically on Gmarket. There are sooo many things to choose from and the prices are such a steal! Something I find at Ehwa or Myeong Dong might be double the price (Sometimes). The only drawback is that you cannot try it on, but there's a model wearing it in about a thousand photos so you can kinda draw your own conclusions. It's best if you are just really familiar with the sizing in Korea. Also, a lot of times the clothes are Free size so you don't even have a choice! It's a gamble for quality and fitting, I guess! But with those prices and the pretty styles... I can't help but take it! Somehow I totally forgot about Gmarket shopping the last 2 times I was in Korea ... But now I'm obsessed again ... this is my first purchase!! I just wanted a warm jacket ......

derp. Want to buy more.....but I have to finish my reflection blog....ooops.............Hopefully this jacket looks good in real life!
